The Best Events of the World! - Bea World 2017

The winner of the Best Event Awards is a creative and unconventional event from The Netherlands, while the Iconic Event Award goes to Filmmaster Events & SRCOM (Italy) for the Rio 2016 Opening Ceremony.

The event industry was celebrated once again during the Awards Ceremony of the 12th edition of the Best Event Awards, the contest reserved for events and live communication (this year in its first worldwide format). The ceremony took place in Rivoli Theatre, in Porto, in the presence of the Secretary of State, Ana Mendes Godinho, and the Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira.

The Bea World Grand Prix was won by The 10 millionth visitor of the Rijksmuseum, an event by Xsaga (The Netherlands) for the Rijksmuseum. The Jury was impressed by a creative and unconventional idea: celebrating the 10millionth visitor of the Museum Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam giving the opportunity to this lucky person to spend a whole unconventional night at the museum. Generationheetch by Manifestory (France) for Heetch got the second place, while the bronze went to Audi Summit 2017 by CREATORS GmbH, Oettle Ferber Associates GmbH, TFN GmbH & Co. KG, FOUR TO ONE Lighting Design GmbH, madhat GmbH (Germany) for Audi AG.

The Iconic Event Award, given to an 'icon' event not comparable to others, went to the Rio 2016 Opening Ceremony by Filmmaster Event & SRCOM (Italy) for Comitê Organizador Rio 2016. Filmmaster Events received also the award for the Best Bea World Event Agency.

People's Choice Award, the result of a popular vote carried out through the mobile app, went to Velux Ehf Final4 2017 by Elements Entertainment GmbH (Germany) for EHF Marketing GmbH.

This edition of Best Event Awards was a record one: 133 shortlisted entries, out of 296 total submissions (+7% compared to last year) from 27 countries, have competed for the iconic elephant trophies. Projects were entered in 19 categories (14 event categories and 5 feature categories) and 2 macro categories.
